Mike Adams received his Hon Secretaries Trophy again this week .

It is the Somerset Bowls Association Hon Secreterys' Winners Trophy which Mike has won for the last 4 years out of 6 and one year he was runner up. A great record and a fine trophy .

Closing Day saw history being made again with the first mixed match between teams from the President and Ladies Captain and the Club Captain. Sadly the Club Captain Mike Nash ended his year with a loss.

Ladies v Men 2011

The Ladies played the Men on Monday afternoon. It was a grey drizzly day but the fun and laughter on the green was great. The ladies once again provided a sumptuous tea and our thanks to all especially Ladies Captain of the day Trixie Miles who organised it. Well done everyone. The score.....well the men won,of course......but only just.

The Over 60's won the Knockout Cup for the 2nd successive year at Ashcombe beating St Andrews
by no less than 49 shots. President John Baker is delighted with the Club's success and sends his heartiest congratulations to the team..........more



In a dramatic end to their season Winscombe A Team won their last 2 matches gaining 20 points to snatch 2nd Place in the Somerset County League Division 1 North. Only 1 team is promoted this year so Winscombe will stay in this league for 2012. A great end to their season......... League Positions

WINSCOMBE BOWLING CLUB                                                 


The Over 60's KO Cup Winning Team

The Bowling Club is in the centre of the Mendip village of Winscombe and our green is acknowledged to be one of the best in Somerset.

Winscombe is now a totally unified Mixed Club.Our Ladies have a team in the North Somerset Triples League and have entered a team in The Wessex League in 2011. The Ladies also have their own Internal Triples  League.

The Men have 2 teams in the Somerset League and an Over 60's team in the Weston Super Mare & District Over 60's league. There is also a full range of Club Competitons and Friendly Matches with local clubs and Tourist sides. 

We have two main Tournaments . Our Men's Open Triples is held in July and we aim to attract 28 teams from all over the South West. >The Floodlight Tournament starts at the end of August and goes right through to September.Its a league then knockout competition.

During the winter we have a friendly Short Mat league in The Pavilion .

In addition to our excellent bowling facilities, there is a varied programme of social functions such as Quiz Nights, Pig Roast and Jazz Night, Club Annual Dinner , Christmas and New Year Eve Parties.
