Congresbury Winners 2011 John Stone Retains the Shield
Banwell came very close to winning against John Stone's team from Congresbury.
An exciting final.
With ten minutes to go and on the 17th end the shots were tied at 15 all. A close head could not be decided and the umpire was called. The shot was given to Congresbury.
16 - 15.... the jack was put up just before the bell and the last end took place.Pressure had obviously taken affect and a very loose head had nothing too close . Paul took the shot 2 foot behind.John Stone was nowhere.Alan needed to score with his last wood,unluckily clicked the kitty to a Congresbury wood and the game and Tournament was over 17-15 to Congresbury.A great game.
